Natali Chizik
Natali Chizik completed her articles with the firm in 2022 and since 2023 practices exclusively in criminal law throughout British Columbia.
Natali is also a lawyer in Buenos Aires, Argentina where she was called to the Bar in 2010. In Buenos Aires, Natali practiced in the areas of civil law and criminal law. She worked as a private prosecutor jointly with the State Prosecutor’s Office to prosecute criminal offenders for violations of human rights and acts of discrimination.
Natali has a very sensitive approach to her clients. She prepares and cares about the work she does for each client with the view that everyone deserves her full commitment. She speaks Portuguese fluently and she is a Spanish native speaker, which has been very beneficial in defending Latin American clients in British Columbia.
Natali graduated with honours from the University of Buenos Aires in 2009. In 2017 she moved to Canada to pursue a Masters in Law at Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC where she obtained a Graduate Scholarship and two International Tuition Awards to write her thesis on lay participation in the criminal justice system. Following this program, she completed a Common Law Masters at Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC to obtain the qualifications required to practice law in Canada.
Natali volunteers for the Argentine Institute of Comparative Studies in Criminal and Social Science where she promotes reforms in the Latin American criminal justice system. She co-authored books and articles about lay participation in the justice system for publishers and journals such as Cambridge University Press and Chicago-Kent Law Review.
She is a member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia and with the Buenos Aires Bar Association.
